Historic Hall Restoration 14 - Leaded Glass Windows

A recent project we have been working on is the restoration of Brackenhurst Main Hall in Southwell, Nottinghamshire

The lower half of the bell tower on the roof of Brackenhurst Main Hall features leaded glass windows that needed restoring. The first step was to uncover all the glass panes that had previously been covered over and then completely remove them from the frames. For safety reasons the empty frames were bordered over until the new glass was ready to be installed. Finally, new lead was added around each glass frame.
