Historic Hall Restoration 11 - Removing Lead Paint

A recent project we’ve been working on is the restoration of Brackenhurst Main Hall in Southwell, Nottinghamshire. Here you can see the main body of the bell tower. Because it was coated in lead-based paint, this had to be safely removed before any further restoration could take place. To minimise risk to the building, the environment, and our team, we applied Peel Away Paint Remover and sealed it over. This method allows the paint to lift away cleanly without releasing harmful particles into the atmosphere. Discover more about this project’s restoration in Part 12.
