Historic Hall Restoration 16 - Skylights

A recent project we’ve been working on is the restoration of Brackenhurst Main Hall in Southwell, Nottinghamshire. These roof lights provide natural daylight to the corridors below. Over the years, dirt and debris had built up, so each one needed a thorough clean. Access was only possible from within the roof space, meaning every pane had to be removed by hand, washed in soapy water, and carefully refitted. The larger skylights on the roof were also upgraded with new glazing, securely fixed down to the roof slope. Discover the next steps of restoring this historical building in Part 17.
