Building of new racking buttresses using reclaimed bricks to match existing

A recent project we have been working on is the restoration of the Hydrangea Garden at Darley Park in Derby.
These images showcase the new racking buttresses that we have constructed with reclaimed bricks to match the original walls. The buttresses were added as a structural support to the unstable walls and begin below ground level, with new concrete foundations for stability. Technically difficult to produce, racking buttresses demand precise mathematical calculations to ensure the slope of each one is just right. Many of them were constructed along the lengthy walls of the hydrangea garden to guarantee its longevity for many years to come.
